MICHAEL BENNET SCOLDS NEWT GINGRICH FOR ATTACKING JOURNALIST MEGYN KELLY AT FORT COLLINS RALLY
DENVER, CO- Sen. Michael Bennet rallied throughout Colorado today and announced his disapproval of former speaker of the House Newt Gingrich following an interview with Megyn Kelly that was televised on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

The former speaker accused Kelly of being “fascinated with sex” while reporting on her show, “The Kelly File” after allegations of sexual assaults surfaced surrounding Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump. Gingrich continued and explained that the media had not focused enough on private speeches Hillary Clinton made in Brazil and Bill Clinton’s affair with White House intern Monica Lewinski. The former speaker interrupted Kelly and continued to interject over the journalist throughout the interview.

As a father of three young girls, Sen. Bennet was surprised by Gingrich’s actions that he deemed it necessary to let Colorado know how he felt about the situation during one of five rallies he had throughout the state of Colorado today.

“Just two evenings ago, I watched former speaker of the House Newt Gingrich attack journalist Megyn Kelly for her reports about Donald Trump’s sexual assault allegations with my wife and three daughters,” Sen. Bennet said during his rally in Fort Collins. “We were all blown away by what this man had to say. I find it wrong for someone to try and condemn someone for investigating an issue that impacts the men and women of America.”
Despite Trumps recent allegations, Colorado U.S. Senate candidate Darryl Glenn has repeatedly announced his support Trump. Glenn believes that has stepped up and taken responsibility for his actions enough. During the rally, Sen. Bennet continued to explain his disheartenment with his opponent supporting the Presidential Republican nominee.
“Like Newt Gingrich, Darryl thinks that Trump has stepped up and took responsibility for his inappropriate remarks he made in 2005,” Sen. Bennet said. “No candidate for President of the United States should ever brag about sexually assaulting women period. I am disappointed in Darryl for wholeheartedly supporting a man who speaks this way about women be the face of our country to the entire world.”
