MICHAEL BENNET SUPPORTS THE NO VETERANS CRISIS LINE CALL SHOULD GO UNANSWERED

DENVER, CO- Sen. Michael Bennet announced his approval of the No Veterans Crisis Line Call Should Go Unanswered Act (H.R. 5932), a bill that aims to increase responsiveness and ultimately improve the Veterans Crisis Line, a confidential hotline where veterans looking for suicide resources receive help from responders at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).

“It is unacceptable that 30 percent of messages sent as test to the Veterans Crisis Line by the Government Accountability Office went unanswered this past May,” Bennet said. “Colorado is home to over 400,000 veterans and I believe that our nation should honor its commitment to provide our veterans with access to the care they deserve for serving our country.”
